Herd DB

A DISTRIBUTED DATABASE

What is HerdDB?

HerdDB is a distributed SQL database that is implemented in Java. It has been designed to be easily included into the Java software and optimised for environments with many insertions and for reading/update access for primary key.

Resiliency

HerdDB is based on Apache Zookeeper and Apache Bookkeeper to build a replicated architecture, shared-nothing and no single point of failure.

Simplicity

When HerdDB is analysed at the low level, it closely resembles a key-value type NoSQL database. Above this architecture there is a level of SQL abstraction with total support for JDBC driver that allows the users to make the most of existing know-how to migrate applications towards HerdDB.
